I am not a "fan" of the book but it is readable, and I have walked away with a few things from it.

Mid-Term Reflection
This course is very eye-opening. Many of the tools we have been exposed to are things that I will take with me to my future classroom. I really appreciate that, considering I feel that many any of our education courses fail to do that. Real life application to me is priceless. I am excited for the opportunity to you those tools when I student teach in the fall.
Week 4- Video Reflections
I think that both videos candidly presented the negative impact of technology on the youth of today. Likewise, I believe that more people should be aware of the information that those videos presented. Many people are oblivious to exactly how much technology has negatively impacted society.
Today's technology driven society is distracted, and too distracted in my opinion. I saw it in the video, I see it in my peers, and I see it in myself. My own concentration and ability to focus on one task has diminished with each passing year in college. I try to focus, but it just doesn't happen. I often wonder what type of work I could produce if I was not so distracted by technology, or perhaps how much more time I would have to do the things I love.
One comment in the second video that stuck with me was that "teachers have to be entertainers in order to capture the attention of their students." I think that is so reflective of what teachers have been morphed into these days. Likewise, as new teachers that statement also prepares us for what we are getting into. It is pretty hard to gain the attention of an individual who is distracted, never mind get their attention long enough to teach them something worthwhile.
The cyber bullying aspect was really eye-opening as well. It is scary to think of the world children and teenagers are growing up in, and furthermore the world that seems so uncontrollable.
I appreciated the educational and "manners first" approach in Korea. I think that is something that this country should look into. However, the video said something about that it would be hard for the United States to do that. Anybody have an idea why that would be? I can not think of anything specific.
